Today, some of our Year 11 Academy U students are participating in their first Leadership in Complexity workshop. During this session they will explore different theories and traits, while also developing essential skills in critical thinking, problem-solving, and leadership. Leadership is one of the most highly valued skills in the workplace and by developing strong leadership abilities, students can position themselves for success in any career. This is why the Leadership in Complexity subject is so valuable—it not only provides academic credit toward a related degree but also equips students with the skills needed to succeed in the future. By completing this first-year university subject our students also gain insight into what studying at a university level is like. St Luke's is excited to share that we've been chosen as one of 18 schools across Australia to participate in the ASEAN Australian Bridge Program! 😀 This initiative of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade is being implemented by Asialink Education at the University of Melbourne. They received hundreds of applications and we feel incredibly privileged to have been one of the schools selected. Yesterday during the School Matching Ceremony we were paired with DepEd Tayo Blue Rizal Baras-Pinugay Integrated High School in the Philippines. We look forward to working collaboratively and creating a strong school partnership. As part of this amazing opportunity, one of our teachers, Mr. Gutierrez will visit the partner school, and Dr. John Kelvin S.L. Pantaleon, a teacher from Baras-Pinugay, will be visiting St Luke's. Eight of our students will take part in online forums, developing key skills in leadership, problem-solving, and global citizenship. They will then share their insights and learnings with our entire school community. The Benefits for our Students and Teachers include: Global Networking: The chance to build lasting relationships with students and staff from an international school enhancing our global network. Developing Key Skills: The program helps develop essential skills like communication, leadership collaboration, problem-solving, and global citizenship. Increased Global Awareness: The students will gain a deeper understanding of global issues, helping them become more aware and informed global citizens. . Enhanced Educational Opportunities: Teachers and students will benefit from the knowledge gained through the school’s participation in the program promoting intercultural learning across the school. Strengthened School Partnerships: The school hopes to continue building long-term partnerships with international schools enriching the school's curriculum and providing greater opportunities.
